He beat the top professional by more than 2 minutes. Kristen enters the professional realm of triathlon after winning the 25-29 age group at the 2007 Ironman 70.3 California. When she's not training, she is a exercise physiologist.

National Championship - Mary DeScenza

Mary truly deserves the Kiphuth High Point Award at Nationals. Every time you look at the blocks, she was ready for the next race. Some sessions she only had one event to rest before her next. Mary suprised spectators with her 500yard Freestyle win. She blew out the competition and set her All-Time Personal Best Time in the long distance swim. Way to go Mary!

National Championship - Peter Marshall

Peter Marshall was right at home in Atlanta, his hometown during the competition. Peter swims the backstroke and sprint freestyle. At Nationals, Peter put on a show for his hometown crowd by winning the 100yard Backstroke. This year he won 2 Gold Medals at the 2007 Pan American Games. We look forward to getting to know this Stanford grad!

She trains in Mission Viejo with Coach Bill Rose. Welcome aboard Micha!

National Championship - Erik Vendt

Erik Vendt focuses for his mile swim. Driven, determined and dangerous. That's Vendt! He goes on to win the event laps ahead of the other lanes.

National Championship - Matt Grevers

TYR athlete Matt Grevers takes time from his full packed schedule to sit with Erin and Mary. On Day Two of competition, Matt swam three different events and took the top seed in two. That night he won the 100yard Butterfly. This is a face to remember.

Fun facts about Matt - (1) he stands 6'8", the tallest member of the TYR family (2) his sister, brother and mother are all swim coaches! (3) he gave up the chilly Chicago weather to train in Tucson this year. Welcome to the team Matt!
